iPhone 17, Apple’s thinnest iPhone ever, and everything else we expect at the next Apple event

iPhone 17, Apple’s thinnest iPhone ever

Apple’s big hardware event is expected to happen on September 9 this year. As usual, the company is likely to announce new iPhones, updated Apple Watches, and new AirPods. The biggest buzz right now is about the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup—including the standard model, Pro versions, and a brand-new “iPhone Air,” which could be Apple’s slimmest phone ever.

iPhone 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max

The standard iPhone 17 may get a big upgrade to look and feel closer to the Pro models. Rumors suggest it will have a 6.3-inch display (slightly bigger than the iPhone 16) and a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling—double the speed of the current model. It might also get a 24-megapixel front camera for sharper selfies and come in new purple and green colors.

For the iPhone 17 Pro, the biggest design change could be on the back. Instead of three separate camera lenses, they might be placed in a rectangular bar across the phone. The flash and sensors could be shifted to the right side, and the Apple logo may be moved for better symmetry. Apple might also swap the titanium frame for aluminum, making the phone lighter and possibly cheaper to produce.

The Pro Max won’t see many design changes, but it might be slightly thicker to fit a bigger battery—great news for heavy phone users.

Prices are rumored to be around $800 for the iPhone 17, $1,050 for the Pro, and $1,250 for the Pro Max.

iPhone Air – The Thinnest iPhone Yet

One of the most talked-about rumors is the iPhone Air, which could replace the current Plus model. It’s said to be only 5.5 mm thick, making it slimmer than most smartphones today, even beating the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge (5.8 mm). It may have a 6.6-inch display and could hint at Apple’s future foldable phone, expected in 2026.

However, the ultra-thin design might mean compromises. The iPhone Air may have just one rear camera instead of two, and there might not be a bottom speaker—audio could come only from the top earpiece.

It’s rumored to cost $950 and be available in black, silver, and light gold.

Apple Watch Series 11, Ultra 3, and SE 3

The Apple Watch Ultra 3 could be in for a big refresh, with possible features like faster charging, 5G support, satellite connectivity, and a larger display. Apple might also introduce blood pressure monitoring and sleep apnea detection, although these health features could be delayed for more testing.

The Apple Watch Series 11 may get similar health upgrades, while the SE 3 is expected to remain more basic, with rumors of a larger display and possibly a plastic version.

Expected prices are $250 for the SE 3, $400 for the Series 11, and $800 for the Ultra 3.

AirPods Pro 3

Apple’s AirPods Pro 3 may finally be coming, after the last major update in 2022. They could feature a smaller, sleeker design, touch controls, and a thinner case. A new H3 chip is rumored to improve noise cancellation and adaptive audio.

Apple’s fall event is shaping up to be packed with announcements—from redesigned iPhones to slimmer earbuds. If the rumors are true, this could be one of the biggest product refreshes in years.
